A Payette, Idaho, eatery was to open and needed a logo and menus designed pronto. The diner was 50s-60s car-themed and they wanted their restaurant menu design to reflect that.
For the logo, the owner wanted to include a vehicle he owned. From photographs taken, we sketched out his car, then chose a fast retro-looking font and set it all on a red checkerboard table cloth. For the restaurant menu design, we imagined it with the checkerboard border on a tea stained field, then assisted the owner with naming his menu items.
The resulting logo was also used for the signage outside and the menus were top shelf. All of the elements really helped give the diner the retro atmosphere they wanted.
